WESTWOOD + JELLY SHOES = MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a big Vivienne Westwood fan.
So far, I have a Vivienne Westwood bag, purse and necklace. I always look to expand my collection - when I have the money, this can be difficult when I am a student.

I don't know why but not so long ago I turned my nose up at her Anglomania "Melissa" shoes. I can't believe its taken me this long to come to the realization that this was a very foolish mistake on my part.

With my recent holiday to Turkey and living in "jelly shoes" whilst I was there, I've gained an appreciation for their simplicity and likability. I think jelly shoes are so adorable - and frankly,Vivienne Westwood's range of them puts my innocent white bowed "Mel" ones to shame.

Hush my mouth for thinking this far in advance, with summer being rife in Scotland and any mentioning of the holiday season taboo, but I am officially composing a mental Christmas List with my very own pair of Westwood "Melissa" jelly shoes at the very top of my list.

Here's a few of my favourites....

FLATS

HEELS

BOOTS

CELEBRITY FANS

Katy Perry

Leona Lewis

Dita Von Tesse, Carey Mulligan and Julia Styles all rocking the black vs leopard print combo.

WHAT PAIR IS YOUR FAVOURITE?

Do any of you lucky people own a pair already or know of someone who does?

...Now I just need to get hinting to my boyfriend...

AN OUTFIT A DAY...

Hello!

I've decided to share some of my holiday looks/outfits with you.

Please accept my sincerest apologies - I really should have taken close ups of the details/prints of my outfits, but realistically, I was on holiday and taking countless photographs of myself was not top priority (I was more interested in mellowing out with my boyfriend and having a dip in the pool!)

All images fully credited to amateur photographer James Charleton (the boyfriend).
I would literally say as we were about to leave every night before we went out for dinner, "Take a quick photograph of me in this!" - and that is just what these photographs are. Quick, easy and to the point. You get the picture. 'Scuse the pun...

Close up of the dress print - looks like a butterfly metamorphisis to me! Love the shoulder pads in this dress too.

White birdcage print summer dress - Topshop Boutique (Oxford St)

Nike cherry printed "Airs" - Office

I would say just by looking at these holiday photographs alone, its clear what my holiday secrets were... Jelly shoes and floral hairbands! My jelly shoes were SO comfortable and remind me of being a little kid again. I got loads of compliments on my pink hairband too - I loved wearing this because since I am a fake-ass bleach blond, my hair sometimes doesn't bode well with sun exposure. Having this cute hairband allowed me to let my hair dry naturally (perfect, since I burnt my scalp) throw it on and go. I think it looks really sweet too.

Floral headbands - lifesaver!

"Mel" jelly shoes are awesome. Really cute designs in loads of colours.

Whats your favourite outfit?? Let me know! I love reading your comments.

P.S... Still can't believe I got a tattoo! I love it!! ^_^

"Diamonds are forever"... Couldn't be more true.

TURKISH ADVENTURES

Hello everyone!
Ashleigh and James here :)

I hope you have all had a lovely week.

I got back yesterday from me and my boyfriend James' holiday to Turkey. I want to share my holiday photographs with everyone!

The view from one of our many windows in our huge room!

We had an awesome time and got up to some amazing activities whilst we were away. I've ticked at least three wishes off of my "bucket list" so I have returned home feeling over the moon.

We jet skied, got a fish pedicure (my second one this month!), had a "honey massage" in the hotel spa, held a python, went swimming with dolphins and got our first tattoo's! I am so pleased to have done all of these things with James - I couldn't choose anyone better to fulfil my dreams with!

Fish pedicure - so tickly

Holding a HUGE python - it wrapped its tail around my bag strap and wouldn't let go! I didn't mind though, James on the other hand...

I'm particularly excited about how we went swimming with dolphins as this has quite literally always been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.

Swimming with dolphins was beyond amazing, but a little scary at the same time! They are so large and powerful. Our dolphin was beautiful and very intelligent.

James and I are most excited about our tattoo's. I've always wanted a tattoo, I'm nearly 20 years old now and I felt that the time was right to finally get one. I had already been recommended by a friend in Aberdeen to get a tattoo done by the artist within the apartments of our hotel. He was so reassuring and I felt safe in his hands.

I decided to get a diamond on my foot representing how one day I want to be successful. Its also there to inspire me to buy myself a REAL diamond that size one day when I am older and hopefully earning a very good wage!

Kitchy old school style diamond

James got a dragon on his leg. He was so nervous for getting it done but I got mine first so this calmed him down a little...

Dragon with lots of blood!

Us and the tattoo artist.

Of course I am devastated to be home (I will miss the 47 degree heat everyday), but I am also happy to be home and eat real food. My healthy eating is back and now in full swing!

I am off to Dundee tomorrow to visit a friend so I shan't be blogging tomorrow, however on Sunday i intend on blogging strictly photographs of my holiday outfits I ended up wearing after all. I can't wait to share them with you!

Thank you so much to everyone who has followed me on their own accord whilst I've been on holiday. I am also very grateful to have received the "One Lovely Blog" award FIVE times in the past month. I promise I will return the favour soon.

xoxo

"KISS MY FAT ASS!!!!"

Hello lovelies!

Thank you so much for such a positive response to my recent blogs. You have no idea how much it means to me to read your kind words and to find new followers who are GENUINELY interested in what I have to say.

I'm going to write a quick post before I start getting ready for my holiday (my boyfriend is picking me up in about an hour...EEEEEEEEEEEK!!)

Lets be real today. This blog is about negativity with the mentioning of one of my idols - Tyra Banks.

Victoria Secret Show 2005

All my life I've been subjected to people that do not like me, jealousy and negativity - even recently.

I don't understand why, I like to think I keep out of the majority of negativity that goes on around me. Arguments and hating on other people is not something that appeals to me anymore. I grew out of that, especially when I realised I had my life in my hands as I was moving away from home to attend University.

I don't know if I have a giant label across my forehead that says I'm arrogant or cocky and deserve to be talked about, but I don't appreciate it. Sometimes I feel like some sort of mini celebrity that everyone feels like they can pull away pieces of me in the hopes that eventually, I might crack - this will never happen.

Having to deal with so much criticism my whole life over boys, jobs, money, friendships have given me really tough skin. I've developed a care free attitude for this kind of negativity.

I write this blog not to rant or release hot air, I write this to let all of you know that if you feel like you're being picked on or you're surrounded by jealousy, it's okay to admit that as aggravating as it is, there is no need to CARE. Don't CARE about what other people think. Never change who you are because ultimately, the people that are negative towards you, are angry at themselves because they can't change.

I know this because I once used to be a jealous and angry person, before I changed. I took my frustrations out on others.

When I write this blog, I think of one episode of the Tyra Banks Show that I will ALWAYS remember. Tyra is a huge inspiration to me and has been since I was young. Watch this clip - she speaks unbelievable truths.

HOW AMAZING IS SHE??? She is so courageous. I admire this woman for her bravery. She is such a source of strength for me.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, thanks for your kind words and reading my blog!

Be happy with what you have - its easier to love rather than HATE on other peple. And if people are making you feel terrible about yourself, don't let them. You are fabulous just the way you are.

xoxo
